With a menu designed by Michelin-starred chef Vineet Bhatia, Indego by Vineet is not your typical Indian restaurant. Tandoori lobster, spice-crusted sea bass and goat cheese samosa are some of the more exotic creations on the menu, which sees the flavours of traditional Indian food refined and playfully expanded on. While it may be fine dining, portion sizes are ample, and there is a list of dishes recommended for sharing. Located in the Grosvenor House in the Marina, the restaurant's plush interior is a fitting accompaniment to the artfully presented meals. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and won't hesitate to recommend meal options or accompaniments, though this can border on pushy so be prepared to make your own mind up. A six-course taster menu is an option for those overwhelmed by the choice. For dessert, no visit to Indego would be complete without sampling their marbled chocolate and almond samosa. But be warned, the price tag is steep.
Open daily 7pm-midnight. Tower one, Grosvenor House Dubai, Dubai Marina, www.grosvenor-dubai.com (04 399 8888).

Visited on 15.8.2013. After my first visit, expectations were very high so it didn't impress me so much this time. A touch of patriotism invoked on the Independence Day with the Indian flag tricolour represented on the amuse bouche.
Went for the bhurani fish tikka. 3 pieces of what looked and tasted like malai (creamy) chicken tikka found in almost any restaurant serving north Indian cuisine. Prawn poached in coconut chilli masala with small serving of rice looked more like a starter than a main course. There was just enough gravy for the rice. Tasted good and to be fair felt fairly sated by this time. The rose mojito with a rose petal, mint and lot of ice was a let down.
Wait staff are good and knowledgeable about the food.
Verdict:- Good food but doesn’t justify the price tag.
Total bill AED 351
Rose mojito AED 36
Bhurani fish tikka AED 125
Prawn in coconut chilli masala AED 190.

Missing the essence of Indian food, modern cuisine is something which has gone horribly wrong here, some menu items are ultra modern while others are plain old boring stuff, taste is not exceptional, service staff is very slow,

A treat for your taste buds !
The food as someone else mentioned below is mouth watering! The combination of flavors in everything we ordered was like a masterpiece. We went for the medley of samosas and dal makhni for appetizers. The goat cheese samosa was incredible! Wished there were more pieces! And the sauces that accompany the samosas were a symphony on their own. The dal was rich and creamy in flavor, a must order!
Our mains were great as well. However, I disagree with Time Out Dubai regarding the chocolate samosas, could have been creamier and crunchier. Or perhaps it’s just not my cup of tea.
The service was spot on, the waiter was very nice and attentive, yet kept his space. It was our anniversary, which my husband had informed about upon reservation, we got a lovely surprise after our desert, a chocolate cake with Happy Anniversary written on it! Very nice of them.
All in all, it was a great culinary experience.
Will visit again soon and I recommend anyone who hasn’t to do so.

The Bill was as follows:
1 S. Pellegrino (Large) : 28
1 Medley Samosa: 78 (I wouldn’t share this dish, so good)
1 Mixed Bread: 45
1 Dal Makhni: 45
1 Chicken Butter: 140
1 Veg. Biryani: 130
1 Bombay Aloo: 45
1 Okra Tossed: 45
1 Samosa Choco: 75

TOTAL 631 DHS

We decided to visit Indego by Vineet during the month of ramadan.

I had high expectations and this restaurant along with the manager and staff delivered 100%. An attention to the finest detail combined with perfectly seasoned and spiced food make it memorable

The best things about the place:

- Lovely enterance with a soothing aroma of fresh roses
- Staff at every step professional and willing to help
- FOOD is just AMAZING. I cant really describe how amazing it was
Oh the classic lamb shank is to die for, perfectly cooked, tender and mouth watering.

Note:- Not for the price sensitive.

This place exudes class from the moment you step in to the moment you leave. I mostly agree with the Timeout reviewers comments.

Popadoms served with dips-mint, cheese and mango. Amouse bouche of potato and cheese with mint lassi were served after ordering was done. Had the tandoori salmon which was so wonderfully tender and slightly piquant. Beautifully presented 3 pieces separated by cucumber raita. The main dish was lamb shank rogan josh with rice. It was served piping hot. The gravy was thick with strong flavour. The mound of rice was less to even mop up the gravy. Chocolate samosa with masala chai came for the dessert. The chai turned out to be an ice cream-like smoothie.

Music was soothing though not melodious enough. Like the food, perhaps a bit of fusion music might help.

Service was very attentive and professional. They could do away with the “How is the food”, an unnecessary interruption especially when you are enjoying the meal. Moreover, there is also a questionnaire you are asked to fill. They also solicited a tip by asking if I would like to add something to the bill which already includes a 10 % service charge.

The bill:
Tandoori salmon Dhs. 120
Lamb rogan josh Dhs. 210
Chocolate samosa Dhs. 75
Kingfisher Dhs. 38

Total: Dhs 443 + Tip

Ate here recently for our wedding anniversary. Food was top notch as was the service with the staff being attentive without being overbearing and excellent in their details of each dish. Typical Dubai problem though. booked the table for 9.30pm and was disappointed to have a table with 4-5 noisy kids come in at 10pm, didnt ruin a good evening but an kid-free environment would have aided the ambeince

Outstanding restaurant. The staff accomodated my special food request and arranged a birthday cake for my brother. They are very efficient without being overbearing, the food was fabulous and yes it is expensive (150-170AED average for mains) it really is worth it if you want a great meal in a lovely restaurant. I will for sure go back and take out of towners too.

Outstanding food, easily the very best of many many Indian restaurants I have tried in Dubai. Typical for Dubai, this comes at a price and expect to pay $70 per head excluding alcohol and desserts. However portions are large so three meals could be shared by 4. Wine price is ridiculous..... fortunately Indian food is better accompanied by a couple of beers. Service is good and the ambience is relaxed. Possibly a little too relaxed as the restaurant is seldom full.... no doubt a reflection of the pricing.

Great food, a bit expensive though not insolent. Quantity was more than expected, quality was undoubtedly there.
Original menu, few dishes only for vegeterians (surprisingly for an Indian restaurant).
Wine, as usual in this kind of place, a bit too expensive.
We loved it, and the choral singing Christmas songs in the hotel perfectly completed the night !

I went with my partner the other day to celebarte our wedding anniversary. We wanted to have Indian meal and were quite confused as to where we should go. Finally we decided to give Indego a shot as we had heard a lot bout this restautant.
From the greeting by beautifully dressed hostess to the elegant and attentive service by waiters and the mouth watering, sumptous food (well presented) by chef....we couldn' utter a word throughout the evening.

so spot on. And our evening was concluded with a beautifully decorated cheesecake served on the table to make my special occassion the most memeorable one of all times.

Thank you INDEGO
