However much it tinkers with the menu, Pachanga always manages to present dishes that earn their price tag. And despite the dated interiors of the rest of the Hilton Dubai Jumeirah, this South American eatery manages to be light, airy and pleasantly timeless on the whole (with the exception of one quarter which bears an alarming resemblance to a greenhouse). Sadly, fresh guacamole is off the menu these days, but wildly flavoursome, fresh starters such as grilled prawn salad and a simple roasted pepper soup mean you won’t miss it. What Pachanga really prides itself on, however, is beef, whether served churrasco-style (roasted on a skewer and sliced off at your table) or as perfectly-seasoned, cooked-precisely-to-order steaks. The rib-eye in particular is a little short of heavenly, and falls apart willingly even when served rare. As long as they keep doing steak like this, no amount of menu-tweaking should keep punters away.
