The Palace hotel’s elegant, beautifully designed all-day dining restaurant isn’t strictly a MENA restaurant, serving all manner of dishes whose origins stem from across the globe. The surroundings, however, are distinctly Arabian, with intricate curved arches, exquisite lanterns hanging from the high ceilings and dark woods and carvings. The terrace, too, is a pleasant, relaxed place in which to kick back, do a spot of people watching and take in the views of the palm-fringed pool and Dubai Fountains beyond. The buffet inside is equally top-notch – think salads, cold meats and fish, breads, grills including Arabic staples, as well as Indian dishes, pastas and Western-style roasts, plus a generous dessert selection that includes some rather fine ice creams. It’s all tasty enough, although it’s the setting and interiors that make Ewaan stand out.
Open daily 6am-midnight. The Palace, The Old Town, Downtown Dubai, www.theaddress.com, dine@theaddress.com (04 888 3444).

As you drive along the view is quite promising. But as you get to the valet area, the poor service starts. No attendance to assist and as you walk in through the doors, no one to guide you around. Finally when you do manage to reach the restaurant the staff force a smile and assist you. For a hotel which has a good interior and Is well located the service is extremely disappointing. Even worse, I found hair in my soup. When I placed it aside to show it to the waiter, somehow my plate was cleared uninformed.
Honestly would not recommend this place.
Though the grilled prawns from the buffet is the only thing I would want to remember from my visit to this restaurant!

Terrible Iftar! Seriously avoid it and choose others!!!!
Not much variety
Poor service as they just wanted to get us out the door. They tried to clear plates whilst we were still eating!
Huge line for food
Expensive with no drinks included.

Go to Ewaan any other time but stay away from them in Ramadan! Firstly, their buffet price does not include soft drinks and Ewaan does factory service for Iftar - they pack as many tables as they can into their normally ample space so comfort levels disappear. You also get rushed to compelte so the staff can prepare for Suhour. Chefs cut back with servings so you have to beg for more yet they charge a premium rate. Normally Ewaan is great but there are plenty of better 5 star Iftar buffet choices over Ramadan.

Attended a girlie brunch on Friday 6th July 2012-we all thought the food was superb and was great deal for a champagne brunch especially with Visa offer. Lovely hotel and beautiful surroundings. Well worth a visit.

I LOVE this restaurant, I go here every year for my birthday. It's an excellent place to celebrate a nice night out. They also accept Entertainer Fine Dining Coupons which makes it more affordable. Their food is great, and the staff are always very nice. We've never had a problem here except once they said they didn't have our reservation, so make sure they confirm it with you by sms. Otherwise, one of my favorite places. I wish I could have my wedding reception there!!

I was so looking forward to having dinner here. The decor is fabulous and you feel like you're in an Arabian nights tale. Words can't describe how magical and fairytale-like the entire restaurant.

I knew it was going to be a bumpy ride when we didn't have a table. Even though I had booked well in advance and received a text message confirming my booking the same morning. We waited for 5 minutes before being placed under a cabana with really low bamboo couches. the waitress was very apologetic which I appreciated as it was pretty busy. this would have been fine had we been there just for drinks & sheesha, but it was an impossible arrangement for dinner....felt like we would have been better off eating in front of the tv! So I politely requested to be seated at a proper dinner table - once again the waitress was understanding and within 5 minutes we had a table brought outside next to the cabana.

We then got stuck in to the buffet. I feel that it's a very hastily put together buffet with no particular theme....there's shish tawook, sushi and also a beef leg being carved up. it felt really clumsy! food tasted pretty average....the prawns that came off a skewer tasted like seawater with no flavour to speak of, the lamb pies were too dough-y & the dessert selection was an odd combo of mambo jambo (e.g. choc fondue, indian jalebi, strawberry mousse...?!?!).

beautiful backdrop & lovely staff somewhat compensate what can only be described as a very budget/below average meal selection. 180 dhs will get you much better food elsewhere and at 25dhs for a small bottle of pepsi, rethink about going here for dinner. i would probably just go back here for drinks instead of a proper meal.
