Hanoi Café

This supremely cute and atmospheric little café combines clean bright white with vibrant splashes of orange and green in a conservatory-like space (with leafy green plants and wooden benches) in a relaxing little oasis. The menu presents an impressively vast selection of drinks, including bubble teas, smoothies, traditional Vietnamese-style coffees and a few unusual-sounding hot teas. The artichoke tea is a surprise and a wonder: mellow and woody yet sweet. The fresh summer rolls are fairly gargantuan in size and packed to the limit with prawns, rice noodles and salad. Unfortunately the rest of the light bites we ordered – stuffed crab shell crispy spicy quail – were a little weak. But a whole different story began with the rest of the food. The simple but delicious crunchy Vietnamese salad is a triumph of fresh, fragrant crisp and sweet flavours and the Hanoi special bun (a mix of chicken, prawn and beef), is a fresh and vibrant mix of noodles and vegetables with crunchy slithers of onion, nuts and herbs. We’re looking forward to heading back.
Open daily 11am-11pm. Cash only. Goldcrest Executive, JLT (04 431 3099).

Great little restaurant. Cool decor. Was excited to visit the restaurant, having grown up with Vietnamese food in the household.

Verdict: Not too bad for Dubai standards. Chicken pho was good, full of flavour, noodles were a little to soft, generous portion of chicken.

Springs rolls not so good. Chef may want to consider changing the oil every now and then.

Will be back to sample the other fine delights Hanoi cafe has to offer.

Authentic vietnamese food a long overdue addition to jlt . Only downside is that they do not have delivery.

The food looks okay, but it does not taste good. Soups and teas are made with tap water... something quite worrying and disgusting...
Sitting outside on the curb were the chefs, smoking and not looking like they were putting together something appertizing... Gross experience, and never again :S YUCK!

After bemoaning the lack of cheap and tasty Vietnamese restaurants in Dubai, I saw the Time Out review, and gathered a posse of coworkers to lunch at Hanoi Cafe. We had spring rolls, summer rolls, rare steak pho, and the vietnamese salad... all was excellent, and as it should be. We're quite certain we've found a new Thursday spot, and can't wait for them to hire a delivery driver.
