Stepping inside the dark wooden interior of this Thai restaurant, hidden away in Holiday Inn Al Barsha, is a little like, well, going on holiday. Gold buddhas are illuminated by soft lighting, the serviettes are fanned and the chairs are throne-like, immediately conjuring up fond memories of eating out in Thailand. An open kitchen keeps diners entertained, which is lucky considering the venue is popular with families and large groups. Further amusement comes courtesy of the over-extended, half-fork-half-chopstick utensils, which look suspiciously Edward Scissorhands-like. But that won’t stop you from tucking into a starter of tasty deep fried, crispy fish or tofu balls stuffed with crab meat and chicken mince. Try the thick flat rice noodles (pad see ew) with beef, for a change from the standard pad Thai. If you’re game, the green curry is as hot as we’ve tried. If not, the red curry with duck is a little less sweat-inducing.
Open daily 7pm-11.30pm. Sheikh Zayed Road, Holiday Inn, Al Barsha, www.hialbarshadubai.com (04 323 4333).

I absolutely love Thai food and this place didn’t disappoint. Whenever I go to a Thai restaurant, I usually just get yellow, green, or red curry but the impressively vast variety of dishes (including almost ten different curry dishes) made me a little more adventurous.

I was eating family style with three other people and had the Rosted Duck with tamarind, red curry, steam Whole Sea bass and papaya salad, chicken in pandan leaves. The crispy marinated chicken in pandan leaves was so good, the perfect crunchy texture on the outside and juicy on the inside. The papaya salad was refreshing and something I’ve never had before (definitely a good starter before you get your main entree). The red curry was good as always; just make sure you order extra rice with it . Another tip: if you can’t handle spicy food well, order the mild version of the red curry. It was still spicy but I can only imagine how the spicy version is.

Good ambiance, great food, an overall win. Definitely the best Thai restaurant I’ve ever been to.

This place was exactly what we were looking for, and it featured Thai food as Authentic as any Thai food I've had anywhere else. Unlike other Thai restaurant places I've been here in Dubai, The Royal Budha had a kids' menu. Our kids loved the Pad see-ew chicken, which is quite a feat considering that our 4-year-old hates nearly everything besides pizza. My husband and I had curry dishes -- the Coconut Massaman Beef and the Panang Prawn Curry -- and both were tasty. I had mine made with medium spiciness while my husband's was quite spicy and our salad Thai green mango with grilled Prawns and it was amazing!!!

Service was terrific. Prompt and attentive Thai waitresses took good care of us, and the Manager checked on us to introduce himself since he could tell that it was our first time in the restaurant. This was really a great dining experience which that reasonably priced. I look forward to eating there again and getting takeout.
We're so excited to coming back soon..

I have been coming to The royal Budha since they opened. The decor is very nice. The food.. It is as good as going to Thailand. You can't order anything bad here. It is all so delicious. The Thai iced tea is creamy and flavorful. The pad Thai is expertly prepared. The pad se-ew melts in your mouth. wok fried prawn with garlic sauce is amazing, The curry. Oh my God. The curry. It is a spicy blend of ecstasy. The staff is first rate and the manager and Thai chef is the sweetest man who will often come around to see how you are doing. It's amazing food, with chic decor and a great staff. Next time we will try the Friday Dim Sum.. so excited!!

One of my favorite thai restaurants here in Dubai. My boyfriend and I shared the pad thai and spicy fried rice with Wok beef with basil. The pad thai was decent..I would maybe try something else next time. But the spicy fried rice was sooo good!
For our dessert my Thai Mango with sticky rice.

Service was pretty quick and waiter was very attentive. Good dining atmosphere and Authentic Thai food.

Must try award winning restaurant!

Dubai has a superb range of Thai restaurants, the very best of which can be found here in Holiday Inn Al Barsha guide you the best Thai restaurants in Dubai. The food here is very best emphasis upon lightly prepared dishes with strong aromatic components. Balance of flavour holds much significance of all thai chefs and the perfect balance between sweet, salty, sour and spicy is vital in the preparation.
The Royal budha never change the standard in terms of food and the top notch service.. Thank you.. Highly recommended!!!

As a great fan of Thai cuisine especially green curries. I have to commend the chef on serving one of the best I've tasted in Dubai and perhaps better even then the ones I've tasted across establishments in the UK, US and Asia. Don't go here for frills or views, go if you want great food and great service.

My husband and I went to many restaurants in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. We travelled also in many countries in GCC but also in Asia like Malaysia. We can say that this is the best thai restaurant in Dubai and also Abu Dhabi. The chef as well as all others cooks are from thailand, the service is excellent, the food is authentic and for people who really knows the thai taste, this is the place to go. I will definitely recommend this restaurant but only for those who can appreciate the high quality of this food.

From far away the best traditional and tasteful thai restaurant i ever tasted in UAE and i can say that i am a "connoisseur" in thai food.
Here is a good trick: Ask about the "nepal boy" and tell him about your tastes and preferences, he will sort out the perfect menu for you!
Really "grande cuisine" with so friendly service. Bravo!

Its a very hit or miss with this one both in terms of food and service. On a good night they serve the best Thai food in Dubai - excellent green curry, Jumbo Prawns and minced basil chicken. But on other nights, that same food could be flavorless and boring. The same goes for service - sometimes its great and other times the staff is nowhere to be found. Its always a coin toss

very good restaurant and great tasty thai food, also not overpriced as many other places here in Dubai. Definitely will go back there again. Service was also fine.

excellent restaurant and great food....have been there thrice already.

My husband and I were not at all impressed with the food in this restaurant. We have lived in Dubai for three years now and this was the worst eating experience we have had.
The price is ok-but you get what you pay for! The food was below average.
The decor is tacky.
If you want a quick and cheap Thai meal then no problem. But if you want quality food in a quality setting there are much better Thai restaurants in Dubai.

We decided to take my mom there for her birthday dinner and was quite disappointed. We went on a Thursday night and were surprised to find the restaurant unusually understaffed for such a busy night. It took them 30 min to take our order. Food came about 20 minutes after that which was fine. Apart from the soups, the food was quite good especially the seabass. We wanted to surprise our mother with a cake which we had bought beforehand but it took them another 40 minutes to arrange for the cake to be brought to the table.

This restaurant could only be good for a romantic dinner. Please do not go there if you're starving and need fast service.

Just came back from my vacation from Thailand and decided to visit a thai restaurant in Dubai. As soon as I have a City Club card the option of Thai restaurants was not big, so I and my husband decided to do to Royal Buddah in Holiday Inn. The hotel itself is not impressive ( business type) but the restaurant really impressed me. The embience , staff , food was impressive. I dont remember the last time i experienced such an excellent service in Dubai. As for food - like in the best Thai restaurant, everything is fresh and delicious. What made me twice happy is a discount we get after presenting a city club card. The bill was around 250 dhs for 2 people . Really great value for the quality you get! Thank you !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wonderful friendly staff, great Thai chef Sakphon who came out of the kitchen to explain the ingredients and he has a lot of great experience around Dubai and the region. A real gem to find such delicious authentic Thai food in the neighborhood, we will be coming back here a lot.
