Good food, good music, great crowd. Problem is the waiters. They all should be sacked including the restaurant manager. They are terrible and seem very hungry for a tip that they forget to do their job. Anyway, I stopped going there and actually became a strong advocate against this place. Would rather have a meal and a drink in the local pub than Mawal. It became a horrible place.

I found it bland like much Lebanese food, and i must say i did not much like the clientele - they are not very welcoming to "outsiders" as you can see from the comments below. A bad experience does not denote racism, and anyone has the right to comment on their experience as they wish. The restaurant does not have the devine right to not be critiqued. I found the atmosphere arogant, much like the people who have commented below.

With reference to what Miss Stephania K already mentioned above, I would like to express my gratitude and thankfullness to her for reflecting our thoughts in her statement and in the name of thousands of MAWAL Lovers, I share Stephania the same thoughts of recognition to MAWAL, and add my voice to hers in disgracing an irrelevant statement from an unprofessional person who writes in a very destructive and ignorant way!

WOW...This just goes to show how BIASED and RASICST whoever wrote this article is. I have never had a better service than that of Mawal. The atmosphere is amazing, the food is delicious, and its an overall spectacular place to spend an evening with friends and family especially on the weekends.
Everybody experiences bad service sometime, in some restaurant, even the 7 star ones, this DOES NOT give you the right to bash a very well respected, award wining restaurant like Mawal based on one bad night you have experienced.
Shame on whoever wrote this article, shows how unprofesional and inexperienced they are.
To everyone interested or curious about trying this resto, I would honestly very strongly recommend it. Please disregard the following article. a

We, Mawal fans & Lebanese cuisine lovers wonder why & how Time Out magazine accepted to keep on its Web main page a weird and destructive comment for years, if not to be called a campaign against one of the most renowned and successful Lebanese restaurants appreciated by the majority of the Lebanese & Middle Eastern community.
We beleive that the negative comment has a malicious motive behind it to serve other competitors otherwise how can a non-Lebanese and non-specialized person in Lebanese cuisine can judge a cuisine that is not to his native one and the most important of it all, nothing GIVE HIM THE RIGHT TO COMMENT THE WAY he did, unless it is a conspiracy against the most successful Lebanese restaurant in town.
As a proof, you only have to read the comments of experts expressed on the WHAT'S ON magazine web pages, in addition to 9 consecutive Best Restaurant awards won year after year....... Or Join a Mawal evening on any given day in order to confirm the complaint, otherwise your insignificant remarks will remain IGNORED for us!!!!!
