The Irish Village

Bar food

The Irish Village
The Irish Village is one of Dubai’s larger Irish venues with a spacious outdoor terrace. Inside, the bar is slightly more traditional with dark wooden furnishings and old-fashioned glass partitions. The walls and shelves are adorned with antiques and quirky Irish memorabilia. Visitors can watch the latest sports coverage or listen to live entertainment. And despite the size of the venue, it gets so busy sometimes that you might have trouble finding a table to eat at. When you try the food, you’ll understand why – stews, fish and chips and a roast of the day recommended. The Irish Village

I have been to the Irish Village on 3 occasions and I would definitely not say third time lucky. Although the food is sort of ok, the attitude of the waiting staff leave much to be desired. Unfriendly, they obviously only smile when it suits them. It seems their attitude is "we are doing you a favour by allowing you to eat here. The service is slow, and to say the least arrogant. Obviously the job is only a means to an end for them.

Have been a regular customer since the place first opened, and living in mirdif it is definitely our best 'local'! I agree with the post above about being chatty with the servers- they really are a great bunch and will be very accommodating as long as you are friendly toward them ... They don't much appreciate having fingers clicked at them or a lack of manners from customers - something that seems to be shamefully rife in this town. Although the food is average quality, the setting and ambience more than make up for it. Still a great place to spend a sunny afternoon with a cold one, enjoying the company of friends and family. The kids love it there.... Grass, ducks, cats & turtles topped off with chips & gravy - what more can they want?

Old world pub with stone floor kind of feel. Complementing this are the solid wood chairs and tables so heavy, it is a challenge to lift them. Free seating is followed, that is, sit wherever available.
Had the cumberland sausage with mashed potatoes and roast gravy and Kilkenny to go with it. Satisfying meal.
Ideal place for meeting with friends over food and/ drinks.
    Total bill AED 91.

The food is good, but a little on the expensive side. I've never noticed rude service. Sometimes a touch indifferent when they were busy, but never rude. I find that if you are polite/friendly, most servers appreciate it and reciprocate. The servers here not only reciprocate, but make it fun. The setting is outstanding and I can't wait for the weather to cool so that we can enjoy the outdoor service with our dogs.
