My apologies to Timeout reporter who was disappointed after having SHABU SHABU meal and to ZZ who didn't leave any feed back of his boring visit to us in SHABU SHABU which is by the way an Asian Restaurant and not Japanese, as most guests like to categorize us. We serve some dishes that were originated in Mongolia and China especially SHABU SHABU, the Hot Pot" and Sushi before Japan adopting those dishes and methods as their own speciality and that's why we never categorize it under any cuisine. We simply say Asian to apply to all tastes and nationalities.
I'm the owner of SHABU SHABU and was surprised to read those 2 reviews but will take it as a very constructive views and make sure that everyone that come to us wouldn't be as disappointed.
Our Slogan says: 'We Bring Out The Chef In You' and this put us at safe. We only serve you our best quality RAW ingredients and guide you through the experience of cooking your own meal. "You cook your meal and eat it." Getting your meat tough has its reasons of leaving it for so long in the broth boiling! This could happen in your private kitchen too! It is exactly the same when you over cook your steak on our Hot Rock. It will be tough, burnt and over cooked. Can we take the blame for that? You are also in control of adding extra garlic to your meal or having less spice to your liking! Can we again being held responsible for this? Dumping all your ingredients to the broth is a big mistake.. You should start with hard vegetables that take longer and only swish your thinly sliced meat in the stock while holding it with your chopsticks and avoid throwing it in. Then take it out, place it in the sauce bowl and straight into your mouth. Do the same with the rest of meat and I can assure you of loving SHABU SHABU that was invented by Genghis Khan for his army in Mongolia. All we can assure our clients is that we serve American Angus Beef and best quality Chicken and daily fresh vegetables. Our prices are very competitive and all our staff were interviewed personally by me in Manila before joining SHABU SHABU here in Dubai. They have wide knowledge of their dishes and master what they do. Our meals are generous, fresh, colorful and tasty. Despite all this goodness, I will for sure improve on the Asian vegetable selection and add some more to it. Our menu is rich and we haven't introduced most of dishes as our IPad Menu is not ready yet but it includes: SHABU SHABU "Hot Pot" or Fondu , Hot Rock, Sushi, Teppanyaki, BBQ, Bibimbap, Dim Sum, home made soba,/ramen/and udon noodles, homemade desserts.and freshly squeezed juices. You simply get what you see .. All prepared and cooked in front of you.. No hidden secrets and no frozen or pre cooked meals. The proof of the pudding is cooking your meal to your liking and eating it.
