I agree with the review below. However, stefanos is one of those few restaurants which has really deteriorated in the last few months. Food, which used to be fine, is now pathetic. Service is poor. Its sad to see such a nice place getting so bad and that too so fast!

I think that the above review is injustice to such a lovely place. Timeout is, at times, biased and usually reviews restaurants ignoring some very key factors.
We frequent Stefanos almost daily, and so are many others like us who make it a point to be there after a long and hectic day. Food is good, shisha is great. But ambiance is what tops it all. Go there on a weekend during the cooler season and see how long it takes to be seated.
Staff is very friendly and attentive. The manager is a great guy from Serbia who is friends with all the regulars there. I do agree that prices are a bit high, but they are not just charging you for the ingredients. Stefano is on a corner on the marina walk and offers spectacular views of the water and skyline of New Dubai.

Not sure where the authentic Italiain food comes in. Pasta was good enough, but everything else, from the sauce, meatballs, parmeggiano, and pizza tasted like they came from the frozen food aisle.
The meatballs were unidentifiable and tasteless. The sausage on the pizza looked like slices of hot dog and the mushrooms looked like they were canned, although the waitstaff insisted they were fresh, just as the beef in the meatballs was from Italy- yeah, right!
Expensive for what it was with the poor quality and small portions- and no bread/olive oil was served. Freshly grated 'parm' was only available upon request and pepper was just table pepper.
And the bathrooms were just disgusting. The gelato must not have been good as we saw three groups of people come in to taste, but all walked out. I guess the only way they've been surviving is from their location on the Marina and their nice enough though unknowledgeable/gullible waitstaff.

Overpriced, and their pasta was one of my least favourite. Carluccios and other low profile places taste better, IMO.
Shame that it's focused towards Shisha and desserts.
