Sho Cho’s location, overlooking the sea at Dubai Marine Beach Resort, is stunning. The outdoor area is bathed in low, blue lighting and the place can be very romantic. It’s popular, too, though when it is the tables might be a little close together for some to have a truly romantic experience. Service can also suffer when it is busy as staff seem quick to clear plates without much warning or question. The food, though is good, especially the starters. Edamame beans are always a safe bet for an appetiser and prove so here, also good are the vegetable gyoza, the dumplings filled with shiitake mushrooms and fried until crispy. A must-try appetiser is the soft shell crab spring rolls, which are inventive and tasty. There’s a wide selection as far as sushi and sashimi goes, and while it might be tempting to go for one of the sharing boards, with a selection of deliciously fresh fish, you’ll probably get more variety by ordering separate dishes. The location and ambience are major plus points for this restaurant, while the service and food is less consistent. Sho Cho

Would you go back to this restaurant?
The food was really disappointing and very overpriced - nothing of it stood out or tasted particularly good! The outside seating is very nice and I am sure its great to sit outside for drinks - but the food is totally overpriced and not worth it! The manager was also very obviously rushing the waiters to serve tables quickly and get people to finish as they had people waiting - not a nice feeling when u are sitting and trying to enjoy your evening! I will def not be back to eat there!
