This Portuguese seafood restaurant looks like something off a postcard. It sits nestled in Jumeirah Fishing Harbour, perched right on the water’s edge and surrounded by fishing boats and it’s a delightfully quaint spot. It’s not the most simple of places to find, but you’ll be well rewarded when you do.
The first thing that hits us is the smell coming from the restaurant. The wafts of cooking aromas will set your appetites onto overdrive and you won’t be able to wait to decide on dinner. The restaurant itself is simplistic, in a nice way, with laid-back vibes and an impressively fishy menu.
Inside it’s on the bright side, but it’s airy and open, with a mid-size seafood counter should you wish to pick your own catch. Outside there’s a handful of tables offering front-row views of the fishing boats. It’s peaceful and calm, and feels a world away from the skyscrapers and traffic of the city.
Start with the scallops, which are served in a creamy corn sauce. They taste absolutely phenomenal. The catch of the day includes tiger prawns and seabass (opt for it simply grilled) and both dishes will completely blow you away.
The freshness and flavour is top-notch and the accompanying veggies are crunchy and super-garlicky.
The whole experience is relaxed and delicious, and will definitely put the wind back in your sails. The bottom line Phenomenal fish.
