Dining at the mall is no straightforward task, with a mind-boggling array of places to consider. There’s the healthy option (there’s always one person on a diet), then there’s expense and proximity to the cinema (will you still be able to make that 8pm show?) before everyone in your party agrees on a spot. Choosing somewhere to eat in the mall has resulted in many a family feud for us. Omnia Baharat, the fourth offering in the city from British celebrity chef Silvena Rowe, is an all-rounder of a restaurant that will keep parents, kids and dieters happy. Choose from burgers, fries and Emirati lobster mac ’n’ cheese or go for healthier options, which include mushroom truffle soup and classic salads. Kids can enjoy organic chicken nuggets, Angus beef sliders or spaghetti bolognese. Daily specials include seafood pasta, which comes crammed with fresh salmon, shrimp, tomato, garlic, ginger, coriander and parmesan cheese. The burgers are also worth a try; the Aberdeen Angus with lettuce, tomato, onions and cheese is fantastic. Staff are friendly, but those aiming to catch that 8pm flick should allow plenty of time, as service can be a little on the slow side.
