From out of Africa and into Dubai, This DIFC dining spot sets you off on a journey of discovery through the colourful tastes of the vast continent. It is no surprise to see a rich array of dishes spanning all areas of Africa – from Ethiopian stews to desserts from South Africa with Morrocan main courses sandwiched in between – take pride of place at a venue bringing authentic African fine dining to the city. But the sophisticated jazz club-style vibe of the eatery, which is moodily-lit and boasts an ample stage area for live music, really catches the eye and strikes a chord.Try the crunchy-coated Sudanese Tamiya, a tasty take on Arabic falafel , a North African lamb tagine filled with tender meat that falls off the bone with only the merest nudge of a knife and is lifted by a sauce of aromatic spices. The beautiful caramelized Malva pudding comes with a cooling sorbet to offset the warm lashings of custard. The restaurant aims to showcase the Africa of tomorrow, but with such excellent food, it’s time to shine has already arrived.
