Fish and chips is either fancy or fast, and rarely does the balance get struck somewhere in between. That is, until you get to Senara. A cute little spot overlooking the tiny marina at the base of the Palm’s trunk, light bites come as small plates or buckets (shrimp, scampi, calamari, whitebait), while starters are the sort you’d find in a trendy coastal gastropub. Pick of the bunch is the prawn cocktail. For mains, you’d be mad to opt for anything other than the fish and chips (brilliant), while you’ll also find fish pie, surf and turf and a selection of vegetarian dishes. The chips – not too thick and certainly not fries – are excellent. They are crisp enough to hold firm when dipping in the ketchup, but equally fluffy on the inside.
