When this popular Mexican joint spawned an amigo in Downtown, there were many wondering how it would recreate the charm of the original. But what the owners have done is bring a novel twist to an already successful product, this time at a fantastic spot in the shadows of the Burj Khalifa. We’d heard about the superb guacamole, lovingly prepared at your table, and are delighted to report it hits the mark. Fantastically fresh, you would’ve thought the fruit had ripened that instant just so you could dip in the oven-hot nachos. If that simple but effective appetiser is anything to go by, you know you are in for a treat when the mains arrive. The mariscada platter is a well thought-out combination of langoustine, salmon, prawns, scallops and a seafood empanada, ideal for sharing. Loca 2.0 has a choice of four equally tempting burritos on offer; plump for the carne asada (beef tenderloin, with ranchero sauce and guacamole) and you will immediately feel smug about your decision.
