This tiny Al Quoz café epitomises the healthy (and very Instagrammable) food trend that’s sweeping the world.
But Wild & The Moon isn’t just pandering to a fad. Interiors aren’t overdone (just a simple, industrial space with lots of hanging plants and wooden tables) while the food is well thought out, delicious, extremely healthy and, most importantly, filling, too.
Everything is free from refined sugar, additives, chemicals, soy, dairy and gluten, but packed with flavour. The bowls are full of high-energy ingredients such as lentils, beans and rice noodles, with delightful combinations of fruit, veg and herbs. There’s everything from celery and coriander to fennel and Japanese pear umeboshi.
The dessert pots, too, are delicious. We try an apple compote and cashew cream that’s beautifully spiced and as sweetly satisfying as any pud. Breakfast options are light and packed with goodness (think açai bowls and buckwheat porridge), and there are all kinds of healthy juices on offer. Not all the flavours will appeal (some are made of little other than green veg and lemon), but the Cocochia is standout and a must for any fans of coconut.
It’s not the cheapest in town, but for extra-healthy, guilt-free food in a particularly lovely setting, look no further.
The bottom line Nutritious, delicious and satisfying.
