If restaurants were made for social media, Eat Sol would write the textbook, so be prepared to rub shoulders with some serious Snapchat addicts here.
This café, located right on Buheirah Corniche in Sharjah, has been attracting a lot of attention from the youngsters living around the largely residential area.
Specialising in sliders, shawarma rolls and freakshakes, the ambience is like the food – outgoing with an upbeat vibe. And you'll probably find it busy even during the week, so be prepared to be patient with staff, who are also inundated with takeaway orders.
Staff suggest the restaurant’s bestsellers, Kofta Sliders and the Dynamite Shawarma Roll. We also order Sol Fries, which come with a tangy signature dressing. We wash it all down with a Snickers and M&M freakshake, which is every bit as filling as you can imagine.
Considering it's the sort of joint set up for a quick on-the-go bite, the sheer weight of what is served stops us in our tracks, not that we’re complaining. The sliders are nicely done and, unlike the messy rolls, were manageable rather than over-stuffed with sloppy fillings.
As for the shakes, while they look the part, the peanut butter one we try needs to have a thicker consistency to really compete with some of Dubai's best offerings.
Overall, the straightforward menu is excellent value for money, and funky look of the venue is backed up with some fun, tasty food.
