  • Sushi Sushi
A pleasant cluster of predominantly al fresco, low-key restaurants, Garhoud’s Century Village was once a popular destination for outdoor dining in the city. Following the arrival of JBR’s The Walk, Marina Walk, Souk Al Bahar and the like, the area has lost a little footfall, but not charm. Wander along the path that weaves between restaurants and clouds of sweet-smelling shisha smoke to find Sushi Sushi. Despite the insistent name, this restaurant doesn’t just offer Japanese eats, but branches out across the globe, from satay to cheese sticks, fried calamari to crème brûlée, while throwing a few peculiar fusion dishes out in the shape of crab and cheese spring rolls, and chicken croquettes with tamarind sauce. Sticking to the epic list of sushi rolls is your best bet, while the variety of platters offer decent value for money. Avoid Sushi Sushi ‘specials’ such as the fruity ‘multi-coloured maki’, but do take a vegetarian friend along – the restaurant has a special menu featuring a commendably varied veggie selection. While it’s undoubtedly not the most authentic Japanese you’ll find in Dubai, it’s certainly not the worst. Sushi Sushi

the food is awful, worst japanese food ever. We had Yaki Udon, which are supposed to be thick noodle, and it wasn't at all. Plus they were tasteless and spicy! The special sushi was terrible, ment to be tempura and it was like plastic, with salad and mayo on top. The terrace was nice though, and the service is ok. Too expensive for what it is, and they charge 10% plus another 10% in the bill. Totally fake japanese. I don't really understand how come Time Out guide could give such a good review, I'm not trusting it anymore and that makes me really upset. Such a pitty.

go there only if you are prepared to pay almost double you bill. they charge service charge which is supposed to be illegal in this country and municipality charge but on the whole bill not on just the alcohol. a bill that should have been no more than 500 dhms in any other place in dubai that plays by the rules was 650 there. if had happened in my country i would have trashed the place and not pay anything.. its not about the money but the principle... NEVER AGAIN!!!!

Food was good. However, the sweet chilli tempura salad was heavily doused in the sweet chili sauce. Dint like the 10% pct srvice charge + the 10% muncipality tax on top of the prices in the menu. It wud hav been nice if the prices in the menu reflected both.
