The Royal Budha

South East Asian

  • The Royal Budha
If you’re hankering after Thai food in Al Barsha, then look no further than The Royal Buddha. You’ll find the classic Thai tastes here, from sticky rice to peanut sauce, and everything meets expectations. With slightly jarring music and a big Buddha in the centre of the room, this Holiday Inn restaurant has the feel of an exotic outpost in a remote, rural town. But the well-meaning staff make this an inviting destination. Dubai’s Thai dining scene is particularly strong, so The Royal Buddha may struggle to stand out when considered in comparison to the city-wide options. But in this part of town, it’s worth a visit. I absolutely love Thai food and this place didn’t disappoint. Whenever I go to a Thai restaurant, I usually just get yellow, green, or red curry but the impressively vast variety of dishes (including almost ten different curry dishes) made me a little more adventurous.

I was eating family style with three other people and had the Rosted Duck with tamarind, red curry, steam Whole Sea bass and papaya salad, chicken in pandan leaves. The crispy marinated chicken in pandan leaves was so good, the perfect crunchy texture on the outside and juicy on the inside. The papaya salad was refreshing and something I’ve never had before (definitely a good starter before you get your main entree). The red curry was good as always; just make sure you order extra rice with it . Another tip: if you can’t handle spicy food well, order the mild version of the red curry. It was still spicy but I can only imagine how the spicy version is.

Good ambiance, great food, an overall win. Definitely the best Thai restaurant I’ve ever been to.

This place was exactly what we were looking for, and it featured Thai food as Authentic as any Thai food I've had anywhere else. Unlike other Thai restaurant places I've been here in Dubai, The Royal Budha had a kids' menu. Our kids loved the Pad see-ew chicken, which is quite a feat considering that our 4-year-old hates nearly everything besides pizza. My husband and I had curry dishes -- the Coconut Massaman Beef and the Panang Prawn Curry -- and both were tasty. I had mine made with medium spiciness while my husband's was quite spicy and our salad Thai green mango with grilled Prawns and it was amazing!!!

Service was terrific. Prompt and attentive Thai waitresses took good care of us, and the Manager checked on us to introduce himself since he could tell that it was our first time in the restaurant. This was really a great dining experience which that reasonably priced. I look forward to eating there again and getting takeout.
We're so excited to coming back soon..

One of my favorite thai restaurants here in Dubai. My boyfriend and I shared the pad thai and spicy fried rice with Wok beef with basil. The pad thai was decent..I would maybe try something else next time. But the spicy fried rice was sooo good!
For our dessert my Thai Mango with sticky rice.

Service was pretty quick and waiter was very attentive. Good dining atmosphere and Authentic Thai food.

    Must try award winning restaurant!
