- nice decor. I always lovedpaul design andinterior. They always take me back in years.

- bad service. When u are going to have a breakfst, it is nice to see a smily face, someone wishing you a good day etc. employees are robots. This is normal since the owner would be cashing the overpriced menue items, andpayingthe poor waiters minimum wage.

- food, sound And looks on the menu better than it tastes. Cold croissants, bitter orange juice, fanned bread... Only their homemade butter is delicious.

- ambience, litteraly the cafe is in a parking lot. Smell and noise of cars and the touristic big bus tour terminus just next to it. Add to that the staff who can not pronounce their menu items.

- value, the cafe seemed very stingy. It is nice to offer things u didnt order. Lets say bread, free coffee refills, free orange juice refill. Like come on when e pay 40 dhz for orange juice, thats the price of a field of oranges.

Being Ramadan during the afternoon yesterday, I got salmon quiche and chocolate mille feuille packed. I've had better quiche elsewhere. Not that it was bad but it is overpriced.
If it's any solace to the lady,Jel, then I did get salad(lettuce leaves) to go with my takeaway order.

By the look of the Paul Cafe at Burjuman was quite inviting, little did I know the experience would be most frustrating. I ordered 1 of the 3 remaining pastries on the shelf & was asked to go to the counter to make the payment.

Meanwhile, a Westerner orders the same pastry after me & was handed over directly from the shelf. I quitely waited for my turn at the counter & to my agony was informed that the particular pastry is over.

Upon confronting the staff who packed my pastry, he denied taking any order from me & to top it all he grins & replies "so what, take another kind". All this happened while I was at the counter with the cashier, other staffs around & none seem to apologize for their mistake.

And for the pastries, I found better ones at half the price just next block at Spinneys!

BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE in Paul's Burjuman! Last Saturday ( Feb 6, at around 7 PM) , I was in Burjuman and I went to Paul to get a sandwich for takeaway and was given a menu by the cashier. The prices at Paul are considerably higher compared to other cafes but as it says in the menu, the sandwiches always come with a salad. I thought that's good value and ordered a turkey and cheese sandwich to go, paid for the meal and waited for my order. When the cashier gave me my sandwich, i noticed instantly that there was no salad. I politely asked for my missing salad but the cashier just said, "Oh the menu is wrong, it's an old menu, we don't give away salads now for take away.." I was surprised at her answer and asked to speak to the manager. The manager named GRACE NGDERI told me the same thing that if i eat at the cafe i get a salad. I then asked if i should not be paying a lower price because i am not getting the whole deal i was ordering for? They just shook their heads and were holding back their laughter as if what i was saying was ridiculous. I told them that their menu is FALSE ADVERTISING and it fools and disappoint customers and they should change it. They just smiled and shook their heads. I did not want to make a bigger scene over a salad so i sighed, took my sandwich (which I paid for) and I told them that that this is the kind of stuff that should be reported and stopped by whatever authorities. And guess what they responded? ----The manager just shrugged and said "okay report, thank you mam" I just knew at that instant that they are thinking that they can just GET AWAY easily with this. yes I am annoyed about the salad, but it is more of the bad customer service I was treated with and how the staff dealt with the situation that is unacceptable.. I just hope cafes like this will not continue to JUST GET WAY with this kind of business behavior.
