Antique Bazaar

Indian & Pakistani

  • Antique Bazaar
Stepping inside the dark, ornate Antique Bazaar is like stepping into a different time. The menu is a bit overwhelming, and while the waiters are pleasant, they can’t always help with recommendations. Some of the dishes boast unusual ingredients, such as the soup with lamb’s foot, which tastes of lamb but doesn’t appear to have any meat in it. The cold bean salad, meanwhile, is more suitable as a side than a starter. You’ll find plenty of vegetarian options for mains, including the dum subz kofta (dumplings of spiced vegetables and paneer in a kadhai sauce). The dumplings are good, but the sauce is very thick, almost too concentrated. The gravy accompanying the okra dish, sunheri bhindi masala, also suffers from this problem. Antique Bazaar may not be that expensive, but you can find more refined Indian food at better value elsewhere. Antique Bazaar

Not as good as it was 6 months before. Food takes long time to be served, we had to ask 4-5 waiters for the same thing. Male singer was singing songs of only one person since he was giving more. All other guests including mine song request was not played, even though I complained for that but still not entertained.

Flavour-less food, overpriced (15 dhs for a roti?), very bad service (the waiter tried to sneak away a half empty bottle of sparkling water from our table and in the process spilled it all over!). It took them one hour to bring our Veggie platter (it wasn't on the menu and they charged us 140 dhs for 10 chunks of bland paneer and mushrooms). And the bill had been inflated too...overall a very poor experience. Never again.

Went there earlier in the month for a quick lunch only to find that I was the lone diner there and keeping me company was the musician playing the sitar with a recorded song in the background.
Had the kebabs for a starter which was enough to be shared by 2. the chutney didn't have the zing to add to the kebabs taste. The mutton mains was too spicy.
Hope to give the place another try.
