I went to PQ at least once every weekend for a few months. The service is spotty at the best of times, but the lovely food makes up for it.
The managers are always checking whether clients are enjoying the food and service and don't hesitate to change whatever is less than top standard. I love their omelettes and chicken bread bowl.
I decided to try a few of the other cafes in the same location and PQ food is way above the rest.

I think we had dinner here every weekend for a month. Though I haven't tried their pastries and hot drinks yet, their juices and main courses are quite good. I'm not sure about the chicken corn soup which was supposed to have a corn though, and the open sandwich which my date ordered out of the menu ('twas supposed to be a mushroom sandwich but it turned out to be a cheese sandwich) - overpriced. Don't even think about packing your unfinished food, they have a VERY poor way of packing, might as well just leave it there. The next time I'll be visiting PQ I'll try the pastries.

I am converted!
I visited le pain quotidien a few times in the US but now live in Dubai. Le Pain qoutidien is a breath of fresh air - the delicious sandwiches are great, the hot breakfast is top notch and the arabic lamb is triple historic.
I recomend for light bites or a hot lunch, Fab....

Sad to hear the review on the soup (albeit, you only refer to the chicken), as their daily soups are delicious. Nothing like a good soup and freshly prepared bread to hit that spot, while resting tired feet brought on by a fit of retail therapy.
Their cheese platter is marvellous as well as the roast beef tartine. We also usually buy some bread and pastries to take home with us.
Coming from Belgium, Le Pain Quot is like a little piece of home!
