Mado

It’s as if someone stole a canteen from Istanbul and put it in DIFC

From Time Out Dubai Eating Out 2011
This eatery’s underground location and canteen-style food presentation is far from glamorous, but that makes for a refreshing change in Dubai’s often overdone restaurant scene. Waiters aren't the most friendly and don't particularly enjoy answering questions about the dishes, let alone make recommendations. It doesn't matter though, because the food is sublime. Try the moussaka, which is delicious – the meat is nicely cooked and the sauce rich, however it's served a tad lukewarm. Other dishes like the mince-stuffed capsicum and mince-topped pide (what a mince fest!) are also wholly satisfying and tasty. Mado also do a great Turkish breakfast – think feta, filo and eggs. This is a great spot for those working in DIFC who want a quick, wholesome meal with a warm home-cooked feel. Mado

Best place in town to taste home made Turkish food at a traditional Turkish cantina andprobably the best eatery in DIFC. You can try the traditional Turkish soups like "mercimek", cold mezzez such as stuffed peppers marinated in olive oil and different traditional items at very reasonable prices in a friendly setting.

Must to try: Simit, a traditional Turkish pastry served fresh and warm in the morning together with turkish steeped tea served in traditional glasses. You need to be there before 9:30AM, as most of their breakfast items are gone before then.
