Booked for chocolate aftrenoon tea at Axis lounge and was offered a choice of tables. Waiting staff explained the 2 afternoon tea choices chocolate or cone and offered us the tea selection from the regular menu. When pressed upon for the choices of herbal tea we were then pointed towards a display of the usual Earl Grey, English breakfast, Green tea and chamomile, a bit disappointing to say the least. When the tea was served it came in a very small pot perhaps enough for 2 cups and was told that refills were not included in the price.
After some time had passed the tea stands were brought out and 10/10 for presentation. On top was a selection of what looked like hand made chocolate (dark), and the chocolate chip scones. The scones were disappointing and tasted like big doughy cookies instead of light fluffy scones however the accompniments were great, nutella, cream and jam.
There was approx 6 sandwiches on each stand with the usual cucumber, salmon, egg selection and then there was the cakes.
Synthetic and bland is the only way to describe them, tased each of them and didn't go back for another bite from any of them. What a disappointment!
Hilton's chocolate afternoon tea promised so much but failed to deliver and would certainly not return especially after being charged 40aed for a childs milkshake.
