Would you go back to this restaurant?
I trotted down to Mithaas this evening after this gushing review and was not disappointed - its maybe a little over enthusiastic and the ambience is definitely as described - canteen rather than classy, but this was ideal for me as a single backpacker.

The address given on this page is incorrect - I looped the entire Rolla Road (or Al Rolla Street as it appears on the actual street sign but not Google Maps!) with GPS to help but eventually fell back to asking the locals. No-one knew so one of them phoned them, figured out it was nearby and gave me a motorbike ride to them.

Its on the right hand side very near the south end of Al Esbij Street, which itself is off the main Khalid Bin Waleed Road.

I went upstairs and there didn't appear to be a menu, I was given what I think was a thali with a flatbread poppadum and a slightly oiled puri. There were four dishes and a pudding which I mistook for a main dish and ate with everything else. The four dishes were varied and interesting, not very spicy but interesting enough to my british palate. They also served a salt lassi, while water was also available. The whole meal came to 14AED.

In summary, good, recommended but go for the food not for restaurant experience.
