Would you go back to this restaurant?
On Saturday 9th May, I made a booking for brunch at “Double Decker” on the following Friday and received a text message confirmation that my booking had been accepted. On Thursday 14th May (note: the evening before I was due to attend the brunch – NOT at the time of booking), “Double Decker” called me to tell me that they were cancelling my booking on the basis that “they only accept reservations for a minimum of 3 people”. I was invited to go along as a walk-in and wait around to see if they could fit me in,

I am SERIOUSLY offended by this turn of events because:

    a) It was a lie. (A previous reservation by telephone for two people had been accepted with no problem and no mention of a ‘minimum of three’ policy).

    b) The message was that, as a single individual, I wasn’t actually welcome at “Double Decker” but would be tolerated as a fill-in to make up numbers and help them generate their target revenue

    c) I strongly suspected that I had been ‘bumped’ in favour of a larger group and – you’ve guessed it! – more money

    d) It might have taken a little more thought, but “Double Decker” COULD have accepted bookings from lone individuals and simply asked them whether they minded sharing a table with a minimum of three other lone individuals. (Alone in a pub, it is nice to have someone to talk to and, facing each other across a table, people invariably find something to talk about).

So folks – a heads-up. If you’re alone in Dubai, “Double Decker” considers you a second-rate customer and probably won’t allow you to enjoy brunch with them.

Would you go back to this restaurant?
City Card has been rejected in DD last two times i was there.

Suggest to update restaurant and hotel deals on regular basis to avoid confusion.
