El Chico

El Chico
This friendly Mexican chain has Tex-Mex covered to a T: portions are big, service is swift (almost irritatingly so) and staff are friendly. Be careful not to fill up on free corn chips and salsa prior to your meal, otherwise you’ll struggle to fit in the whole enchilada. With a few twists of a lemon and some impressive handywork, the guacamole is made right in front of your eyes at the table. The avocado dip is chunky and oniony, while the baked potatoes come with a selection of toppings, including creamy cheese sauce, minced meat, refried beans, pico de gallo and sour cream. The usual mains are on offer, including tacos and burritos, and the gluten-intolerant among us have the choice to opt for corn tortillas instead. The combination fajita tends to be lacking in the meat department, but the corn tortilla beef tacos come with large slices of steak underneath a slick slice of avocado. El Chico

Disgusting Food, I am amazed that places like this stay open to be honest, especially with all the choice in this city, it looked and tasted like everything that was served came out of the deepfreeze.

Might appeal to people who think Chillis is good eating, but seems to be just and excuse to import an American food chain into the U.A.E and churn out disgusting frozen meals to people. Its a sad reflection on peoples tastes that this place is still doing business.

Will never ever go there again. If you want authentic mexican with a bit more soul try Maria Bonitas instead.
