Tiffinbites

Convenient lunch spot with decent tiffin in Mirdif City Centre

Tiffinbites
In a city filled with great tiffin, this is surely the most recognisable brand and probably the most accessible outlet, if not the one with the best food. The convenience of this mall outlet, now the only branch in Dubai after the closure of the JBR restaurant, is reflected in prices that are on the high side, especially when compared to the smaller Indian outlets of Karama and Deira. But its tasty tiffins and filling dosas should leave you satisfied. The restaurant itself is rarely busy, but passing shoppers create a lively-ish atmosphere. No doubt, more authentic versions of this Indian-British dish can be found in the smaller corners of the city, but for those mall-trawlers with an occasional fancy for these small, spicy dishes, Tiffinbites is the ideal occasional lunch spot for those with broader tastes. Had Seekh Kabab with tandori roti , it was horrible no spice bland, roti was half cooked like dough here there,I feel the cooks have no idea what is tandori roti or kabab , may be not indian. will never go to that resturant.

I had a masala Dosa which might well have been taken out of deep freeze. Avoid at all costs.

We tried their tiffins & ordered one per person; the portions were more than sufficient. But the food was disappointing; the karahi chicken I ordered was slightly sweet coz of the excessive tomatoes in the gravy and the chole was watery & bland. Garlic naan was just ok. The saag lamb & dal makhani that my partner ordered were also bland & tasteless. The ambiance is nothing to talk about. The service took long but we were looked after by a very attentive waitress who was smiling all the time & quite cheerful inspite of it being closing time.

    Bad Experience!

We get the samosa as if it was reheated (Not fresh).

Grilled Kababs=> it is better to go and buy those in the "supermarket Freezer"!
