Vegetarian restaurant in Bur Dubai
From Time Out Dubai Eating Out 2011Whoever said vegetarian food is boring clearly hasn’t visited Kamat. Located in Bur Dubai, the veggie-only place is packed most weekends, and weeknights too, which is always a good sign. As far as ambience and decor goes, it’s not dining at its finest, but it’s got a cheery vibe to it. Though bustling, you usually don’t have to wait too long for a table and the menu has a great deal of variety so you can easily find dishes you’ve never tried before.
The cauliflower manchurian, for example, is not too greasy and delicious, though we were slightly disappointed by the pudina paneer tikka as the minty cottage cheese chunks had a rather weak flavour. The vegetable pilau gets top marks; fragrant and soft, while from the curries vegetable lahori and dhingri paneer mutter, it’s the latter that stands out with its combination of mushrooms, paneer and peas in the right blend of spices. Unfortunately, the rotis are tough and chewy and desserts such as the ras malai and kulfi falooda are just about average at best. Still, when it comes to portions and value for money, Kamat is a clear winner. Kamat Restaurant

Dear Kamat Management,
I want to bring your notice to the disastrous dining experience we had yesterday at Kamat Restaurant Mankhool,
I took some of my guests for dinner and boasted about Kamat’s food as I had some of the wonderful experiences in the past , but after the dinner was served , I was completely frustrated and sad ,filled with anger and could not able to stand my guests.
The food was brought to the table when it was almost cold with thick dry layered formed on the top, the staff was arrogant while serving, basically they want us to hog the food as fast as possible and the get out from there, the quality of food was extremely poor, there was no taste in any of the dishes whether its Paneer tikka masala or Dal makhani.
Dal Makhani was so poor that it tasted like only boiled Dal with no taste of butter, Cream or Tomatoes means I don’t understand that a restaurant of this calibre How can go wrong with Dal Makhani . I was totally a failure of management and control on food quality
I saw that our next table was also very upset with the food and tried to complain but there was hardly anyone attending them for the feedback or even tried to recover.
Personally I feel that you guys are going extremely wrong in some directions and will be losing your customer base significantly if you did not control these issues because I am sure after yesterday I am not going to come back at any of the Kamat’s.

It's a great restaurant with great food! the staff are extremely friendly. I've been going for 10 years now. Always a pleasure. Yes, sometimes its crowded. But you have to keep a cool head and politely request for changes. And iit always works. But i've never had serious problems.

I went to this restaurant last thursday. Oh my god!! i was cursing myself why at all I took my family out there and spoil the weekend. First of all the service was so pathetic. Took their own time to serve and all of sudden there was a gush of guests and the servers and the guy who takes order lost their cool... crowd management is very very poor.. When I ordered fried rice,, the server cooly sayss.. the chef is busy .. it will take about 20 minutes,, would u like to order something else??? of course when there is crowd chef will be busy.. what the hell,, shud I eat what the server says??? and finally after 25 mts the fried rice came and before even I could place my order for dessert,, he kept the bill on my table and went away!!!! such a arrogant bunch of people working there..... I went with a lot of expectation.. really got screwed up and spoiled my weekend there.. bad experience.. and I learnt from it.
