Notorious star-studded restaurant to make Dubai debut at food festival
Visitors to this year’s Taste of Dubai will have the chance to get a first look at The Ivy prior to the restaurant’s opening in Dubai.
Known for its glamour and star-studded clientele The Ivy is one of the most famous restaurants in London and is hoping to dazzle diners in Dubai when it opens in The Jumeirah Emirates Towers later this year.
The London-based restaurant popular with celebrities - and the paparazzi photographers that lie in wait for the stars outside its doors - has been around for over 90 years. Check out Time Out's review of the original restaurant here.
About The Ivy’s participation at Taste of Dubai 2011, Director of The Ivy, Fernando Peire said: “Taste of Dubai is a great platform for dedicated and aspiring food lovers to discover The Ivy ahead of its opening in the spring. They will have an opportunity to meet the executive team and gauge The Ivy experience first hand”.
On the festival weekend, Peire, Tim Hughes, Group Chief Director, and other members of the key staff will be at The Ivy’s stand presenting dishes from the restaurant’s British and international menu, famous for its shepherd’s pie and Scandinavian iced berries with hot white chocolate sauce. This brasserie-style menu is also said to characterise the Dubai restaurant, including more contemporary dishes.
Similar, although somewhat smaller, to the London restaurant The Ivy Dubai will feature a private dining room which will probably become a popular venue for some very exclusive parties. It’ll be interesting to see if The Ivy in Dubai will attract large numbers of celebrities as its London branch. But luckily you don’t have to be Kate Moss to try out some of the restaurant’s dishes at Taste of Dubai.
