10 to try: Food with a view
Time Out selects ten bars and restaurants in Dubai which offer a stunning view. So get booking, and lap it up Discuss this article
Time Out took an exclusive tour of the soon to open Asiana restaurant at the Raffles hotel this week.
While the management team at the restaurant frantically put the finishing touches to the hotel we stood out on the balcony and enjoyed one of the best views of Dubai we have ever seen.
On the 18th floor of the hotel, the restaurant offers a uniquely expansive view of the city. With breathtaking angles on both Sheikh Zayed Road and the Dubai Creek it is sure to take your breath away. It is instantly the home of one of our top ten views in Dubai. Read on to find out the rest.
Vu offers eye-popping views of Dubai from ear-popping heights. Take the elevator to the 50th floor and you can expect food that has attitude and altitude. See the towering skyscrapers and the twinkling lights of Jumeirah beach road before it fades to black for the sea.
360, as the name perhaps suggests, offers spectacular panoramic views. And from its unique vantage point on a specially constructed platform near the Jumeirah Beach hotel this means an excellent look at the ever changing skyline of Dubai’s coast.
The Boardwalk literally hangs over into the Dubai Creek. It offers one of the best lunchtime locations in the city with its views along the sedate waterway. Look across to the Creek park and get a different perspective of the Sheikh Zayed Road skyline.
Al Mahara is still the only underwater hotel in Dubai. Despite the persistent rumours of a Hydropolis hotel it is the Burj Al Arab that offers sub-aquatic dining. Watching the fish swim just inches away from your head is one of the great Dubai experiences.
Bateaux Dubai is a floating restaurant almost entirely surrounded by glass. So it is not hard to imagine that it gives some very impressive reviews of the Creek as it glides up and down the waters at night.
Apres sits at the foot of Ski Dubai’s slope. Sitting in the restaurant and looking out at the adventurous and the foolhardy affords excellent opportunity to watch the action. There are some excellent skiers out there, but it is the try-hard tumblers that give the best entertainment.
Al Dawaar is the revolving restaurant at the Hyatt Regency. While a revolving restaurant would stand out as a major gimmick in most cities it is all too often forgotten about here. But the stunning views it offers are well worth a trip. Over the course of a two-hour meal you can see just about everywhere as the restaurant slowly revolves across the horizon.
Al Muntaha literally means ‘The Ultimate’ in Arabic. And as you sit 200 metres above the Jumeirah coastline and look down on the sparkling playground beneath you it is hard to disagree with this viewpoint.
Al Sarab is a Time Out sunset favourite. Overlooking the dunes surrounding the Bab Al Shams hotel it offers unrivalled views of the desert. Discover the beauty of the multicolored hues.
