What is raclette, where does it come from and can it be found in Dubai?
Q. I’ve always wondered if I could find any French/Swiss restaurants in Dubai that serve raclette. I’ve called several, but none of them seem to know what Raclette is. Do you know where I can find it?
A. Time Out isn’t sure if you’re referring to raclette the cheese (a Swiss, semi-firm, salted cheese made from cow’s milk), or the dish (melted raclette cheese served with potatoes, gherkins, dried meats and the like). Either way, the most obvious choice for enjoying a good raclette is at the Mövenpick Hotel (a Swiss import). Head to the hotel’s Fountain Restaurant on Wednesdays to enjoy the fondue night, which serves, among other things, raclette (alongside potato).
