Bateaux Dubai’s afternoon tea
This floating restaurant is now offering scones, tea and all manner of polite fun, treating guests to views of the creek. Meanwhile, gents scratching their heads as to where to take their better halves for Valentine’s Day can book a table for two on the Valentine’s Day cruise, which features a specially designed set menu and bubbly.
Afternoon tea from Dhs75; daily 3pm for 3.30pm departure. Valentine’s menu Dhs580; February 14 at 8pm for 8.30pm departure. Bateaux Dubai, Deira Creek, opposite British Embassy, mail@bateauxdubai.com (04 399 4994).

Al Mansour Dhow
This traditional dhow features Arabic and international cuisine, as well as live performances by the resident oud player – drinks aren’t included in the price, but can be bought on board. The boat can also be hired for private functions.
Dhs185 per person for two hours. Daily 8pm for 8.30pm departure. Radisson Blu Dubai Deira Creek, Bani Yas Road (04 222 7171).

oh first of all I would like to thank my sister Dalal for started Timeouting just like me for the chance to experience this wonderful BBQ, I didn’t check the bill of course but they told us the drinks are not included, we had no water no tissue but all was fine... will go again with friends

I did this at the weekend, it was tremendous fun and would certainly consider doing it again. One thing to watch out for, however, is that soft drinks are not included, and we were charged 16 Dhs for every can of Coke, etc, consumed.
