We speak to Australian choclatier Suagar Hari ahead of Anantara Gourmet 2015
Australian chocolatier Sugar Hari will bring a full armoury of chocolatey treats to the capital with a series of afternoon teas and chocolate masterclasses.
What can we expect from your chocolate tasting menu and masterclass? It has a twist from Down Under, and you will experience different textures. In the ‘chocolate meets tea’ masterclass you can learn that some teas work better than others with certain chocolate recipes.
As a chocolatier, do you have the best culinary job going? Absolutely. Chocolate almost always makes people happy, and that’s what being a chef is all about. I can’t think of a better job.
Which country produces the best chocolate? In my opinion Switzerland is the best chocolate-producing country in the world, because Swiss chocolatiers refuse to use vegetable oil in their sweets. Although European Union chocolate makers are allowed to use up to five percent vegetable fats in chocolate production, Swiss companies are resisting.
