What’s your top tip for visitors to Dubai? They shouldn’t worry about their safety while they’re here. Dubai is one of the safest cities in the world. With that being said, they can plan their trip very well. They should look for a good travel or touring company that would suit their interests and likes, and plan everything for them. So when they arrive, they can relax and enjoy everything Dubai has to offer.
What one thing would you like to do in Dubai that you haven’t done before? I’ve been racehorse fanatic ever since I was a kid. Horse racing is in our blood. Sadly, I still haven’t visited the Meydan Racecourse but I will definitely do it. The best horses around the world, come here to compete in the world’s richest race, which is the Dubai World Cup.
What career journey did you take before joining your restaurant? Prior to my career here in Max’s UAE as the Commissary Manager, I worked in a famous pizza parlor in the Philippines called Shakey’s as a Production Leader / Crew Captain. After graduating in college, I worked in the Central Commissary of Max’s Restaurant in the Philippines for 10 years. I started from the position of Production Management Trainee and then later became the Production Manager.
Why should Time Out readers try your restaurant? What really amazes me about Max’s is that, during World War II, it was the Americans who were the first customers who fell in love with the cuisine. In the present, Max’s Restaurant offers not just the best authentic Filipino Cuisine in the UAE but you can also get Filipino hospitality at its best. Our staff welcomes the guests as if we are accepting them into our homes. People don’t just come here to dine… they make lasting memories.
What’s the best thing about dining at your restaurant in 2015? For 2015, Max’s vision is still the same, and that is ‘to be to most loved Filipino Brand’. Our guest’s satisfaction is still our number one passion. Of course, as a restaurant, it is primarily all about the food that people come for. We don’t sit still with our food and menu. We will highlight some dishes that are popular in some parts of the Philippines and innovate dishes that are classics back home.
What’s your dish recommendation at your restaurant? Max’s Restaurant is known as ‘the house that fried chicken built’. Our fried chicken is our flagship product. It is very unique in how it is prepared and noone else in the market does anything like it. The menu has many, many signature dishes, each very different but all very cravable. If you haven’t tried Max’s then you are missing out!
