What career journey did you take before joining your restaurant? I started my career at home in Japan where I was taught by some of the best in the field which gave me the passion to develop my skills and create amazing Japanese food that people would love! Before coming to OKKU I worked in the U.S, which included Las Vegas’s at, Japanese sushi restaurant Sushi Roku Why should Time Out readers try your restaurant? Authentic Japanese, made with passion.
What’s the best thing about dining at your restaurant in 2016? Everything. Though to pick some, it would be the new ladies night ‘O’Socialista, our fun Disco Sushi Friday brunch and of course L.O.V.E. Sunday but I warn you now, keep an eye out for some exciting new dishes to hit the menu!
What’s your dish recommendation at your restaurant? The ‘O’ Style Dynamite Kani – Whole baked king crab legs, masago and spicy mayonnaise. Aside from where you work, where else do you like to dine in Dubai and why? Everywhere and all kinds of food because I have to always research to grow… I do like to go to CLAW and also Casa De Tapas!
What is the best dish you’ve ever tasted in your life and who made it? Joel Robuchon: Thin sliced foie grasterraine with white truffle salad.
