Latest Palm Grill brunch review (Ritz Carlton), a new brunch in Dubai for 2016. Includes details, start time, hours and restaurant information
Time Out Dubai staff
Palm Grill was made for lazy Saturday lunches – but chances are, you’ve never heard of it. Once The Ritz-Carlton Dubai’s rather loftily priced Beach Bar & Grill, Palm Grill has gone down a more casual dining route, and it’s one that really, really works. With a casual, flip-flop-friendly atmosphere, fittingly easy-listening live music from a talented singer-guitarist and tables right on the sand, looking out across JBR’s public beach, it’s that elusive place you’ve been searching for to enjoy a cold drink and a barbecue.
The main attraction of the Chill & Grill brunch is the barbecue station, featuring a wide range of flame-grilled fare. Cuttlefish, prawns and salmon are on offer for seafood lovers, plus grilled vegetables, spicy beef sausages and beef burgers (better enjoyed without the stale buns). Also on the live cooking station are carvery meats (leg of lamb and beef sirloin) and baked potatoes, while inside there are dedicated stations for salads and desserts.
While the food is enjoyable, if not award winning, what really stands out is the service. Staff are conversational as well as cheerful and obliging, from arrival right through to departure, and share details of other deals throughout the week, most likely in the hope that you’ll return. With such warm hospitality, a serene beach setting and daily deals on sundowners with nibbles from 4pm to 7pm, pity the fool who tries to stop us.
