Amy Mathieson seeks outs some post-shopping pasta at Cova
You know the feeling, credit card and feet aching, all you want is to sit down, chill out and refuel with a bowl of pasta. At The Dubai Mall, the opening of Cova means there’s a brand-new place to do just that.
Originating from Milan, the restaurant is now open in the fancy new Fashion Avenue at the massive shopping destination, boasting top views of The Dubai Fountain.
The famous Italian pasticceria – that’s a posh word for cake shop – opened last month and is serving up a whole host of delicious dishes. It’s the first Middle Eastern venture for the brand, which was founded in 1817, and boasts a menu packed with treats, including this tasty-looking rigatoni with sundried tomatoes.
There’s also a range of traditional dishes such as Cova Milanese and, of course, those world-famous cakes and pastries, which are sure to give you a boost post spending spree.
“We are proud to offer a touch of Italian tradition to Dubai,” says Paola Faccioli, CEO of Cova. “Our heritage, history and exceptional products are more than two centuries old. The location we have chosen is stunning as much as the one in Milan, right in the middle of the luxury shopping district. We cannot wait to share our famous panettone with the refined clientele of one of the most aspirational city in the world.”
So if you’re after some burrata with your Burberry or cannelloni after Cartier, sashay on down to Fashion Avenue. Open Sun-Wed 10am-midnight, Thu-Sat 10am-1am. The Dubai Mall, Downtown Dubai, www.covamilano.com.
