We check out the menu at d3’s latest opening, Belong
Boasting flavours from the Middle East, Mediterranean and North Africa, d3’s recent arrival Belong looks set to please a variety of tastes and palates.
The restaurant and lounge opened in the Design District last month, and promises a “discerning blend of comfort foods from across the Mediterranean, a bold range of beverages and live music”.
“Our menu is rooted in a sense of nostalgia,” Belong’s Food & Beverage Director, Yasmine Attieh, tells Time Out Dubai. “The dishes are inspired by the flavours of my childhood, when meals were a time of bonding. Traditional emphasis on freshness is paired with modern culinary excellence. There’s plenty of TLC in each and every one of our dishes.”
Dishes have a quirky touch, with lamb chops accompanied by zaatar chimichurri or a chocolate halawa fondant.
The menu is designed to share with dishes such as spicy tuna ceviche, salmon tartare and a veggie tart, while main courses include rib-eye, chargrilled chicken with smoked paprika, grilled salmon and lamb chops. There are also burgers, pulled lamb sliders and plenty of salads, too, including this beetroot one.
Mixed beetroot is served up with baby spinach, goat’s milk labneh wrapped in puff pastry, caramelised walnuts and tossed with a honey and wholegrain Dijon vinaigrette.
The licensed restaurant will also have live music from Wednesday to Friday.
Also now open in the area is Akiba Dori, serving a range of Japanese-inspired treats.
