Time Out has news that one of the most popular restaurants in Dubai is shutting its doors for good. Yes, Rivington Grill in Souk Al Bahar to close
Dubai’s much-loved British restaurant The Rivington Grill is set to close its Souk Al Bahar outlet for good this summer, just over a year after the closure of its Madinat Jumeirah branch.
After eight years of operation in Dubai, “The Rivi”, as it has become known, is set to shutter up operations on June 5. While an official statement from operators Jumeirah Restaurant Group cited “the end of the site’s lease”, no reason was given for a lack of renewal. Instead, the Group promised to send the restaurant out in style, with “great menu offers, closing parties and daily specials reflecting the best sellers from over the years”.
Russell Scott, managing director of Jumeirah Restaurant Group, said: “The Rivi has established a well-deserved reputation for celebrating the rich diversity of British cooking and we are proud to have run this hugely popular restaurant for the past eight years.
“I would like to personally thank all of our loyal customers over these last years and I would urge them, as well as the people who have not yet tried us, to get along as soon as they can to try those favourites or experience the great roast. The Rivi team will look forward to looking after you.”
The Rivington Grill is open daily from noon, with last orders at 10.45pm, until Sunday June 5. For bookings call (04 423 090304 423 0903).
