Khyber’s menu will focus on authentic north Indian food with highlights including tandoori raan, a tender leg of baby lamb with Khyber spiced marinade and cooked in a clay oven and makai ki tikki, corn patties with royal cumin seeds, green chillies and coriander.
There are plenty of well-known dishes on the menu, including butter chicken, paneer makhani and kebab platters, as well as items such as tandoori lobster. Platters start at Dhs125, while mains are from Dhs50 to Dhs225. The menu also features nine different types of bread.
This is the first venture outside India for the Khyber team.
“Khyber is an iconic name, anybody who talks about Mumbai, knows about our restaurant,” says owner Sudheer Bahl. “DUKES Dubai is the only venue that can recreate its splendour; the hotel is palatial, regal and looks magnificent.”
The décor will be similar to that at the flagship restaurant in Mumbai, but with a modern twist, and has been designed by architect Ayaz Basrai of famous Indian company The Busride Design Studio
“We have worked closely with the Bahl family to ensure the new Khyber restaurant captures the true essence of the concept and we look forward to welcoming our first guests,” says Abdulla Bin Sulayem, CEO, Seven Tides International, owners of DUKES Dubai.
The restaurant can seat 162 guests inside, while a terrace provides seating for 40 in cooler weather.
