Demoiselle by Galvin, which opened in Dubai in April this year, is the sister restaurant of Galvin Demoiselle, which is housed in one of the world’s most iconic department stores − Harrods in London.
Galvin Dubai is the brothers’ 12th restaurant and “will introduce the Best of British served with a Mediterranean flair”, say the team behind it.
Dishes will have influences from Italy, the South of France and Northern Africa, and are designed to be “innovative yet accessible” takes on classic Mediterranean Basin flavours.
The team will be headed up by executive chef Luigi Vespero, executive pastry chef Ryan Harris and general manager Eric Handtschowercker.
The venue promises to “fuse a vibrant restaurant and bar area that encapsulates the spirit and elegance of all Galvin Restaurants”. The aim is for laid-back glamour and an upmarket yet relaxed vibe.
Galvin Dubai comes fast on the heels of brand-new tapas bar Toro & Ko, which opens today (Thursday September 7).
The Barcelona-inspired eatery comes from award-winning chefs Ken Oringer and Jamie Bissonnette, who already run branches of the restaurant in Boston, New York and Bangkok.
An exciting menu is packed with twists on classics, with tapas and paellas taking centre stage.
Both new restaurants join Peruvian restaurant LIMA in The Square, a licensed area of City Walk, and are sure to be popular additions to the city’s dining scene. Opening mid-September. The Square, City Walk. www.galvindubai.com.
