A jungle-themed fiesta, a Mediterranean party and dishes from a celebrity chef
Already looking forward to the weekend? Here are three brand-new brunches for you to try – from Mediterranean tapas-style bites, to a jungle-themed Mexican fiesta and an upmarket Arabian offering from celebrity chef Greg Malouf.
Cuisinero Uno Cuisinero Uno, at the Steigenberger Hotel, threw open its doors in the summer, headed up by John Buenaventura – a finalist in Time Out Dubai’s young chef of the year contest. And not only is it proving a hit for tapas-style dining, it now has a new brunch, too.
La Cocina De Jimador, which kicks off this Friday (November 3), promises “great food, fun games and Latin music”.
The brunch is Dhs285 with house beverages and runs from 1pm-4m every Friday. Games include face painting and drinks pong.
This cool, urban eatery has industrial-style décor, and even has its own greenhouse for growing veg and the compact menu is based on Emirati, Mediterranean and Asian-inspired tapas dishes, designed to share. A previous chef de cuisine at Seafire at Atlantis The Palm, 32-year-old Buenaventura opened his first restaurant earlier this year, and we are looking forward to seeing what this brunch has to offer. There’s a taco counter starring chicken pastor, lamb barbacoa, quesadilla, tamales, esquites and tortilla soup, while main dishes come from the à la carte menu and include grilled chicken, char-grilled rib-eye, grilled Chilean sea bass and avocado tempura. Desserts include banana chocolate tarte, churros and pan de elote.
