Celebrity chef Simon Rimmer is heading to his Dubai Marina restaurant The Scene next week, for a special festive meet and greet.
The British chef will be in the restaurant on Wednesday November 29 from 6pm until 10pm, and Thursday November 30 from 10am until 2pm, and again from 6pm until 10pm.
Diners and fans will get the opportunity to meet Rimmer one-on-one and ask him all about his culinary expertise and experience. Rimmer, who founded his first restaurant, Greens in 1990, has also written two books, The Accidental Vegetarian and The Seasoned Vegetarian. He’s also a well-known face on TV back in the UK too, hosting Channel 4 cookery quiz Win It, Cook It, as well as popular morning show, Sunday Brunch. He’s even starred in Strictly Come Dancing (getting through to week six), so there’s plenty of fodder to grill him on.
Guests can call ahead to reserve their meet and greet slot, or register on arrival to meet the 54-year-old Manchester-born chef.
While you’re there, it’s a chance to try the special Christmas menu from The Scene’s head chef Garth De Villiers, as a preview for the main event on December 25. You can enjoy two courses for Dhs169 or three for Dhs189 for a range of traditional dishes including truffled brie on toast, roast turkey and Christmas pud. And if you’re after a festive tipple, then you can try some Christmassy drinks from Dhs35, too.
So, if you’ve always had a burning question you’d like to ask the celebrity chef (how does he get his roasties so right? How much fake tan did he really use for Strictly?) now’s the perfect opportunity.
Wed Nov 29, 6pm-10pm; Thu Nov 30, 10am-2pm, 6pm-10pm. The Scene, Pier 7, Dubai Marina (04 422 2328).
