New healthy restaurant HOLA opens in Dubai’s La Mer
The Latin American-inspired eatery is serving up fruit-based dishes
There’s a brand-new healthy eating spot in Dubai, and it’s in the trendy, ever-growing hotspot La Mer.
Billed as an “energetic, modern and innovative brand”, the cool new beachside eatery offers up an exotic selection of fruit-based delicacies.
Menu highlights include crêpes filled with ice cream, traditional Mexican paletas (a type of ice lolly) made from fresh fruit, carved mango flowers, teppanyaki ice-cream rolls made to order and even fruit sushi.
On the simpler scale there’s plenty of fruit bowls and freshly-squeezed juices to choose from to cool you down after a walk along the sand. All fruit is seasonal and locally-sourced, ensuring it’s super fresh and ripe.
Meaning hello in Spanish, the name HOLA was chosen to “express the brand’s South American inspiration”. The aim is to have “refreshing and healthy” dishes that the entire family can enjoy by the beach.
The Latin American-inspired interiors are vibrant and rustic, with patterned ceramics and simple, relaxed vibe. An array of indoor and outdoor swings adds to the overall relaxing atmosphere and provide the perfect opportunity to unwind in a perfectly located beach front location.
The brains behind the business are Emirati brothers Ali and Yousef Karmostaji, and the idea was the result of Ali’s frequent visits to South America. Inspired by the passionate fruit street vendors in Mexico, they decided to bring the idea back to Dubai.
