A brand-new Asia de Cuba is opening in Dubai next month.
The Chino Latino restaurant already has an outpost in Abu Dhabi, and it will be opening its doors in Dubai in March. There’s been no official confirmation, but it looks set to open in The Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi Beach Resort & Marina.
Asia de Cuba, which is under the same management as China Grill, already has successful branches in New York and London. The restaurant and bar at the St. Regis Corniche in Abu Dhabi is also hugely popular, so much so that it was crowned Bar of the Year 2017 and Best Lounge Bar 2017 by Time Out Abu Dhabi.
The trendy bar and restaurant promises a “carnival-like atmosphere”, so expect a party vibe and innovative dishes as it takes over a space set across two levels, with a restaurant, bar and terrace.
Décor is set to be trendy with bespoke wallpapers, furnishings and artworks showcased throughout the bar and restaurant. Meanwhile the terrace will take diners on a “journey of Latin wanderlust”, with hanging plants, South American furnishings and tropical lighting details.
There’ll be range of traditional Latin American mixed drinks on offer at the bar, and an extensive dining menu from Cuban-born executive chef, Luis Pous
The menu, which is a fusion of Latin and Asian cuisines, is designed to be shared. Dishes include Asia de Cuba signatures such as tunapica tartare with crispy wontons, Spanish olives, toasted coconut and avocado ceviche; ‘Ropa Vieja’ spring rolls with braised beef short rib, rocoto sweet and sour sauce; shrimp churros with sesame and coconut curry and roasted Peking duck with chilli herb salad, tortillas and hoisin.
