Travel-themed restaurant Somewhere opens at Dubai Mall
It offers Middle Eastern dishes with an international twist
There’s a new travel-themed restaurant open in The Dubai Mall and we are whipping on our elephant pants and trekking Downtown for some worldly grub.
Somewhere has just launched in the Fashion Avenue extension and all of the dishes on the menu are inspired by the travels of the team, from the Mediterranean to the Middle East.
The concept is to enjoy the thrill of travelling through authentic cuisine from around the world and the restaurant’s Instagram account pegs it as “celebrating the thrill of travelling and exploring the unknown”.
Speaking of the unknown, the menu itself seems to be pretty under wraps at present, though we can expect Middle Eastern dishes with an international twist, like zaatar and cheese cones and beef shawarma bao.
There’s even a stack of travel books so you can plan you next getaway as you feast, or alternatively get your head in the bowl and let your imagination take you there.
The opening of Fashion Avenue saw Dubai Mall break its own record for the biggest shopping centre in the word.
The mall is calling it the “new home of luxury” and is home to 150 luxury brands including Burberry, Cartier, Ralph Lauren and Alexander McQueen.
There’s also a VIP valet, expert personal shoppers and an in-mall chauffeur service so you can save your energy for the journey ahead. Bon Voyage! Mall open Sun-Wed 10am-11pm; Thu-Say 10am-midnight. The Dubai Mall, Downtown Dubai (800 38224 6255).
