This is reflected in the restaurants colourful interiors, done in collaboration with Dubai-based graffiti artist, Ramy Elzaghawy.
Décor is funky and fun, with leather booths and Chinese lanterns decking out the place. It’s described as a mixture of “urban grit and relaxed Asian cool” and the team also promise it’s pocket-friendly, with a meal for two coming in at around Dhs150.
The name is inspired by the fluffy Asian bao buns we all love, and the menu will, of course, be showcasing them.
They come packed with a variety of tasty fillings, including chilli beef, tofu, Peking duck and teriyaki chicken.
Other dishes include steamed gyoza with chicken, a whole host of maki rolls, dim sum and more.
Larger plates include Singapore noodles, beef ramen and salmon donburi.
Everything will be served with flair, so expect plenty of dry ice to go with your food.
And, if you’ve got a sweet tooth, don’t miss the Nutella dim sum, which comes with raspberry and vanilla ice cream.
We’re all set to be bao-wled over. Open daily 11.30am-midnight. City Walk, Al Safa Street (04 342 7044).
