Al Borz
Traditional Iranian restaurant with accomplished delivery service Discuss this article
The slightly derelict feel of the Al-Durreh Tower should not put you off this traditional Persian restaurant. Once you find the way in it is almost like being transported to another time with a little fountain trickling softly between the two main sections of the restaurant. The décor is evocative without being twee and the view of the Emirates towers offers a nice contrast to the interior. A complimentary salad and soup were swiftly provided and they certainly whet the appetite for the wide range of kebabs on offer (Dhs30-45). These are mostly marinated lamb and/or chicken based, although there are fish options too. The portions are large and a good introduction to Persian food. The juice cocktails (Dhs15) were a little disappointing but the excellent Turkish coffee had a kick like a mule. If the kebabs don’t appeal, there is also a limited range of stews, simple rice-based dishes and sandwiches to select from.
