From Time Out Dubai Eating Out 2008

The Wharf, as the name suggests, overlooks the water. But is the scenic location matched by equally impressive food? If the mushroom and spinach starter is anything to go by, you’d have to say yes.

The rich, earthy textures set the palate buzzing with organic-tasting flavours. Moving on to the main event, the poached cod is a flaky treat from the oceans and comes with a smattering of other aquatic delicacies, including some stunningly salty and fresh-tasting mussels.

If this doesn’t appeal, go for the crab thermidor – shreds of meat nuzzling in a delicate sauce sit atop a bed of mushrooms. Both are light, tasty dishes, but they won’t have you inputting the restaurant reservation line on your speed dial.

A meal for two here costs around Dhs600 – which makes you think you could do better for your money.
